Sydney opera house is one of the beautifulest opera of the world, and everyone who goes to sydney, it will go to visit the opera. But, a lot of them don´t know how to arrive, prices, the history of the opera... And in this blog, you will learn all about it.


Transport: There are a lot of ways to reach the opera, because is located in the middle of Syney. 

  • By Bus: You can catch buses, which is the main public transport near the Opera House. From Circular Quay, it's just a 5-minute walk to the opera. Many bus routes run frequently, connecting you to the rest of Sydney.
  • By Train: The Circular Quay train station is near of the Opera House. It is part of the Sydney Trains network and is connected to several major lines, making it accessible from almost anywhere in the city.
  • By Ferry: One of the most scenic ways to arrive is by ferry. Ferries from various parts of Sydney stop at Circular Quay Wharf, offering a beautiful view of the harbor bridge as you approach the Opera House.

  • Tour: If you want to go inside of the opera, you will need to pay some money, not much, but you will need to do it. It costs 45$ for adults, 25$ for children, 35$ for conccesion and 115$ for families. This is what is included with each ticket.

    History: The Sydney opera house was designed by Danish architech Jørn Utzon f. Jørn Utzon has won an international competition for the design in 1957. The construction of the opera house, has began in 1959, but due to technical and political issues, Utzon resigned before fenishing building in 1973. Utzon has never seen in person the opera finished. Nowadays, the opera house is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. Later, he was awarded with the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2003.

    World Heritage: The Sydney Opera House was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List on June 28, 2007.
