Botswana became a member of the Commonwealth in 1966
, the same year it gained independence from Britain. Botswana became independient on September 30, 1966. Since then, Botswana has maintained a stable democratic government and has developed into one of Africa's more prosperous nations.

The most fascinating aspect of Botswana is his wildlife. The country is renowned for its vast wilderness areas, especially the delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the world’s largest inland river deltas. It attracts thousands of tourists, becasue they have a lot of diferent type of animals, and the posibility of going on a safary and see a lot of animals attract a los of tourists. o. Botswana is also known for its conservation efforts, playing a leading role in protecting endangered species like rhinos.


Sports in Botswana

Sports play an essential role in Botswana’s national identity, and the country has a growing reputation, because they have a lot of good athletes. Track and field events, particularly sprinting and middle-distance running, are popular. A famous figure in Botswana's sport history is Nijel Amos, who won a silver medal in the 800 meters at the 2012 London Olympics, becoming the first Botswana athlete to achieve an Olympic medal.

Botswana has participated in multiple Commonwealth Games, where its athletes showed their talents in various sports like athletics, boxing, and weightlifting.
